Palestra was named after the Ancient Greek name for wrestling and boxing schools. Set on the site of a boxing gym, 197 Blackfriars Road also reflects other classical hallmarks; simplicity and symmetry.
Set in a prominent location in the rapidly emerging business district of Bankside and opposite Southwark underground station, this 14-storey office building takes the form of stacked boxes raised on stilts providing its tenants with large, column free, rectilinear floorplates, making space planning so simple, so easy.
This series of optical illusion postcards sent to agents and potential occupiers highlighted the regularity and purity of the floor spaces available.
